Submissions for Artists for ARH 2020 open on 24th February 2020. 

Submission & Entry Conditions

In submitting an entry the Artist contracts with Red Hill Consolidated School & acknowledges acceptance of the following conditions:

PLEASE NOTE : ALL ARTISTS ARE REQUIRED TO HOLD A CURRENT A.B.N. Artwork cannot be accepted without an associated ABN. This is a non-negotiable directive from the Department of Education. (Go to https://register.business.gov.au/registration/type to register for an ABN)

Submission & Entry Process
The submission & entry procedure will follow these stages

  • Initial submission is made online with a Submission fee of $50 (non-refundable) payable at the time of submission.
  • After the closing date, all submissions will be assessed by the ARH Selection Panel.
  • Artists & Suppliers with work over 1m in size &/or over 25kgs in weight will be required to hold $10 million in Public Liability Insurance.
  • Artists whose works are successful will be notified & invited to exhibit at the 2020 show. A return email from the artist will be required to confirm their acceptance.
  • The Panels decision is final & no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
  • Submissions close Sunday 22nd March, 2020.
  • Submissions will only be accepted via the online portal & no late submissions will be accepted.
  • Please be aware that this art show is held as a major fundraiser for Red Hill Consolidated School & as such, children will be in attendance at the show & also led through in class groups as part of our cultural development. As such, works not suitable for children’s viewing will not be selected for the show.

Guidelines for Painting 2020

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AS YOU COMPLETE YOUR SUBMISSION


SUBMISSION PROCESS - submitted works are for consideration for inclusion in the show. Submission does not guarantee entry. Artists will be advised by March 27 2020 as to the success of their submission.


Artists can submit up to 4 pieces - 3 for the main exhibition & a 30cm x 30cm piece for the 30x30 category. Work must be completed to be submitted. No works in progress will be accepted. We really encourage you to submit a 30x30 as it is a very successful category & looks fantastic on display.


One piece can be no larger than 1.5m x 1.5m FRAMED. The other two pieces must be no larger than 1.2m x 1.2m FRAMED. The entry for the 30x30 category must be 30cm x 30cm FRAMED. Any works that is accepted & arrives to the show & the measurements are not within the given guidelines will not be included in the show.

7. General Conditions

7.1 The artist covenants that :

a. all artworks provided by the artist shall be original, suitably framed or finished and ready for hanging or display and where appropriate, shall be provided with materials and in a condition to facilitate hanging/presentation. Each artwork must be clearly labelled with the artist, the title and the price and ready to hang. 

HANGING WORKS - stretched canvas is acceptable but must have rigid & adequate cross members. Each work must be fitted with substantial hanging wire or heavy duty cord & “flush D hangers”. The apex of the hanging wire or cord should be approx. 75mm below the top of the frame - artwork without secure hanging fixtures cannot be hung, will not be included in the exhibition & can be collected to the artist at art pick up time. 

b. the Artist acknowledges having been requested by these Conditions of Entry to take out appropriate insurance for their works .

c. Artists will assume all risks associated with their artwork at the event

7.2 Accordingly artworks shall be exhibited solely at the artist's own risk  

7.3 Art Red Hill shall use its reasonable best endeavours to take care of artworks whilst within its custody or control but relies on the covenant of the artist that the artist will have their works appropriately insured.

7.4. Art Red Hill reserves the right to refuse to display an artwork for reason that it is not delivered within the required time frame, is too large or heavy, is not delivered in a condition which is easy to hang or present or which in the absolute discretion of Art Red Hill is visually offensive or otherwise inappropriate.

Artists can submit up to 5 pieces. Please advise if you anticipate your sculptures to be displayed indoors or outdoors.

Sculptors can enter limited editions of their work. Please advise as to the number of editions of a piece that will be available to Art Red Hill to sell. 

Sculptors are required to hold a valid current ABN & current $10 million public liability insurance cover.

Guidelines for Small Scale Sculpture 2020

Small Scale Sculpture is a new category for Art Red Hill. 

The Small Scale Sculpture category is open to works of freestanding sculpture, object and contemporary jewellery, created in any medium, with emphasis on conceptual over functional. Dimensions up to 40 x 40cm and below.

Artists can submit up to 5 individual pieces (size dependant) or up to 10 pieces as part of a collection/set. Please liaise with the Category Leader to resolve any queries.

Sculptors can enter limited editions of their work. Please advise as to the number of editions of a piece that will be available to Art Red Hill to sell. 

Sculptors are required to hold a valid current ABN & current $10 million public liability insurance cover for works over 25kgs.

Guidelines for Jewellery 2020


SUBMISSION ONLY - these pieces do not need to be the entry pieces.


Artists can submit up to 30 pieces - only 3 examples required for submission - please ensure examples submitted are representative of the style of the work to be entered. Multiples of pieces will be accepted.  


If successful, each jeweller will be required to supply a completed spreadsheet of items being offered at Art Red Hill. ARH will supply a template to be used.

Thank you for being a part of ART Red Hill 2020, our annual fundraising event for Red Hill Consolidated School. We are so grateful for your support with the POP UP shop at this year’s event.


PLEASE NOTE YOUR INVENTORY LIST & DELIVERY LABLES WILL BE SENT VIA A LINK ON RECEIPT OF YOUR REGISTRATION.

COMMISSION  Red Hill Consolidated School will take 30% commission of sales.  
PRODUCT DETAIL Please fill in the Inventory List (to be sent via link of receipt of registration) with the product name, a brief description, your code, the retail price and quantity. Prices should include GST.
DELIVERY LABEL We will also provide delivery labels (to be sent via link of receipt of registration) for you to attach to your packages.
PAYMENT At the completion of the event we will provide you with summary of your sales and the total that will be provided to you via EFT (payments will be processed as quickly as possible and all payments will be received by the 31st May, 2019)
